Hi, this is Melanie Nashan with Nashan Photographers. My associates and I are based out of Montana, Florida and California and love taking wedding and portrait photographs for our clients. We have photographed weddings all over the world and customize our packages specifically for each client.

Please take some time and look at our ‘artists’ page to see some of our online portfolios and then our ‘your event’ page to look at some of the more recent work we have done. We specialize in capturing candid, artistic moments of you and your families during all stages of your lives including weddings, family gatherings, holiday photos, senior portraits, maternity shoots and baby portraits.

This August, we are excited to be offering a wedding photography camp. Read all about it here.

Portal Films: Andy Jackson

For the past several weeks we have been discussing the idea of Guest Bloggers. I am glad to have our first guest be Andy Jackson from Portal Films. He worked on a beautiful wedding that Cindy and Holly photographed at the Ritz in Naples, Florida. The film he created was one of the most vivid and emotional movies that I have seen. On top of it all he is charming and easy to be around which makes life so much more pleasant. Thank you Andy for taking the time to write on our blog!

"Fact creates norms, and truth illumination." -Werner Herzog, director
Within my work, I strive for truth. I do not focus on a wedding as an "event", but rather on the wedding as a set of relationships. I focus on the little interactions that define love... the reasons why the wedding is taking place.
My name is Andy Jackson, impressionistic cinematographer.

When I was a senior in high school, I remember the prom being a highly anticipated event. Everyone spoke so highly of it that I couldn’t keep myself from being excited. I imagined a classy affair where I would mingle with friends, sharing lots of laughter and stories. When the big day finally came, I arrived with my date only to find myself in the midst of a massive photo session. I was immensely disappointed.
For many brides, this is unfortunately the case with their wedding. For years they dream about the beauty, elegance, and intimate nature of this day, only to find themselves in an emotionally stifling environment as a consequence of careless or inexperienced vendors.
In November of last year, I was privileged to work with Cindy & Holly of Nashan Photographers at the wedding of Jenny Flavin & Joel Gonzalez at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL. While Cindy & Holly were able to capture some terrific portraits, a majority of their work consisted of capturing moments and emotions as they unfolded. They allowed the day to naturally take its course, which was not only appreciated by me, but by the bride, the groom, and both of their families. Everyone was able to completely enjoy the celebration and soak in each other’s good company without distraction.
When considering a vendor, always look for those that will keep the best interest of your wedding in mind.
