Kathleen and Craig's Wedding

Kathleen and Craig's wedding was unique in many ways. First off her dress was designed by Nicole Miller that I think it was fabulous. Craig is a metalsmith and made the cupcake stand and many of the other things that were on the property including a HUGE slide and several weatherveins. There were antique motorcycles on the property that told people where to park with signs that Craig had forged.

When I first walked into their home I was walking up the steps to Kathleen's room and noticed the wonderful light flooding the stairway where this chalkboard full of personal messages was hanging. I was hoping that I could take some photo of someone in that light sometime during the day. Later on I was walking up the steps and "Tiny" was writing a message on the board, I quickly changed lenses and was able to capture this candid moment while she was writing. Then a couple of seconds later she heard the camera and turned around and I love the frontal portrait just as much!

After the ceremony Craig, Kathleen, Chieko (my associate) and I found some beautiful light to take some more portraits in. We had a good time playing around getting these portraits that I think came out lovley. Kathleen has a great body and her dress just showed it off perfectly!!!

This was also the first time that I shot any infrared images. I think the images came out really beautifully. Here are a few of my favorites from the wedding. The rest of the images will be on the web in about 10 days or so.

A branding and a wedding all in the same day.....

A few months ago I booked the wedding and branding for Kathleen and Craig. About a month later Nell's mother, Jackie called to see if I could shoot her daughter's wedding on the same day of the branding. Originally we made arrangements to fly Cindy, one of my associates, up to shoot the branding and then I realized I could shoot both events because they were spaced far enough apart during the day. So yesterday morning I photographed this wonderful branding at the ranch. The ranch is beautiful and the branding pens were covered in mustard instead of the mud that I am accustomed to so my job was EASY. Everyone was very friendly and everyone who wanted to help was welcome. Here are some of my favorites:

After the branding, I made a quick change of clothes and FLEW from Billings to Big Timber. The McKight ranch is located at the foothills of the Crazy Mountains a LONG way down a couple of dirt roads. (My car, which by the way is a great Toyaota Highlander, wanted to blow up because I was going way too fast.)

Anyway this was the first time I was meeting Nell, Andrew and their families and everyone was so happy and excited. They are a sweet couple who did a unity ceremony Montana style which was sharing a gun shot on an antique pistol that the minister had under his jacket. Everyone had a great time celebrating and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Angie Devine's Clothes

Angie Devine, a friend of mine makes FABULOUS kids clothes. The fabrics and designs are really LOVELY!! She is starting to market them more and we have begun our photo shoot that will span the next couple of months. Yesterday, after we thought we were going to cancel we decided to try and shoot some photos. We lucked out and the rain stopped and the sun came out. The kids were a little cold at times, but I think they had fun running through the flowers and up and down the hillsides. (We do have some of the cutest models!!!!)

Here are some of my favorites....

If you live in the Clearwater area and are getting married please stop by and talk to Celina about the wedding dress you are looking for. Their service is impeccable and they really know everything about wedding dresses. Here is a link to their web page. Congratulations Celina!!!!
