Hi, this is Melanie Nashan with Nashan Photographers. My associates and I are based out of Montana, Florida and California and love taking wedding and portrait photographs for our clients. We have photographed weddings all over the world and customize our packages specifically for each client.

Please take some time and look at our ‘artists’ page to see some of our online portfolios and then our ‘your event’ page to look at some of the more recent work we have done. We specialize in capturing candid, artistic moments of you and your families during all stages of your lives including weddings, family gatherings, holiday photos, senior portraits, maternity shoots and baby portraits.

This August, we are excited to be offering a wedding photography camp. Read all about it here.

Feel free to call me with any questions that you might have or to set up a meeting. You can keep informed by receiving our blog entries by signing up for a RSS feed or subscribing for an email notification every time we make an entry.

Wedding Websites....

Some of you may know this and others may not. But many couples now make web sites that give their friends and families information about the wedding they are planning. It is really a great idea that keeps everyone informed and gives the guests a lot of options. Many of our clients are creating these web sites. Mike and Sara made one that I really like so here is the link:

If you click on their "photo' window at the bottom left you will see some of their engagment portraits that I took for them.

SENIOR PORTRAITS

I love taking senior portraits, it is refreshing. Kaitlin and I took these photos around her school grounds which I think makes the photographs even more meaningful. She was a great sport walking around in her dress and short sleeve shirt while I sported my winter jacket! She is so photogenic and beautiful. These are some of my favorites from the shoot that I think depict various aspects of her personality.

Camp/Wakeley Wedding La Playa/Naples/Florida

A couple of years ago I photographed Alexandra and Brad's wedding in Cape Cod. It was a beautiful wedding by the water. Alexandra's family was welcoming and gracious. Her mother, Karen, invited me to stay at her home anytime I was in the area. I found out during the rehearsal dinner roasts that if I ever were to take her up on the invitation to make sure it is in the summer.

About a year ago I received a phone call from Sandra Wakeley, to photograph her wedding. She was in Ali's wedding and was marrying Ali's brother, Christian. Lucky for me they were getting married in Naples in March, which offers a great respite from the long Montana winter. During our phone conversations I remembered how welcoming the family was and how easy they were to work with. When I arrived in Naples to photograph Sandra and Christian's rehearsal dinner and wedding , they were sincerely grateful for me coming down to work for them. I always feel thankful when someone hires me to photograph their wedding, especially so when they choose to have me fly to a particular destination.

There is something special about the connection between Sandra and Christian. They seem to have an inherent similarity in personality, kindness and sincerity that is rare to see in an individual and even more rare in a couple. This, in addition, to their external beauty made my job so easy and enjoyable. It was wonderful to work and be surrounded by familiar faces and to get to know Sandra's family.

Here are some of my favorite photographs from their wedding, and one photo of Ali and Brad and their beautiful new baby, Gabriel. Thank you to all of you for making me feel so comfortable and having me be a part of such a wonderful celebration with your families.

Engagement Portraits

When someone books one of our associates to shoot a wedding they also receive a free Engagement Portrait session. These are wonderful because they allow everyone to become comfortable with each other. The future bride and groom get accustomed to being photographed, and the photographer learns how the couple comes out in photos. Sometimes a woman doesn't look good in profile or the groom looks better when he is photographed from his right side. It is best to learn these things before the wedding. Here is a link to a couple of Barbel's sessions, and one of mine.

Barbel just received this email from one of her future brides:

Hi there-
We are absolutely thrilled with all of the pictures!! Both of our mothers
can't get over how incredible each one is. And thank you so much for making

that day very laid back and natural, not to posed. It made jason very
comfortable...but he's a natural, as we now know. ... All the girls at the salon loved the pictures too. A few have actually met you before last summer while doing hair for a few weddings
at chico or in big sky. Once again thank you so much, I am very grateful to

have you for our wedding day and the closer the date gets the more
information i'll have about the flow of events.
Take care!
Morgan and Jason
PS Also thanks for being understanding with our goofy dogs!!
